Right now--some traditional styled steelhead flies for an upcoming trip. A bit after that, some bass and panfish flies, mainly small foam poppers and a few streamers.

I like to tie mini-gurglers on size 10-12 hooks, with rubber legs up front, flashy underbody, and buck/calf/craft fur tail, or a seaducer-style grizzly hackle tail. Quick, easy tie. Very versatile with lots of variations on materials & colors to resemble minnows, wounded baitfish, frogs, lizards, beetles, dragonflies, etc. I also like to tint & pattern up the foam with markers. You can add a traditional loop weed-guard, or a stiff front V-fork type guard to slide over debris.

Yea I was thinking some poppers but have not tied too many of these...will need to check out some recipes.

I have plenty of streamers and nymphs ...can always use more.
Will also be look I no at more dries as the top water action comes in to play more.

Hope to also head back to the Blue River near Silverthorne this year so need to think what the rainbows will be hitting.

Starting with foam Ants and Beatles. 12 to 16. Seemed to work well in the past.
