Sakasa Kebari (Tenkara front-facing hackle)

Post by Justin » Mon Nov 16, 2015 3:19 pm

I've been working on quite a few forward-facing hackles, aka sakasa kebari. I'm eager to try them out on our new batch of fish!

Still working out a way to actually hold the fly for the photo. The ball of sticky tack is pretty ugly, and that's about as small as I can possibly work with. If I'm remembering correctly, this is a #16.

Thanks Russell! I just hope the trout think so, too.

Well done! And these style flies will work in the Guadalupe. I've had success in the past with them, using them to present a bit different profile of the naturals.

I hope you made two. I think you should give one to your dad!

I think that will depend on whether it turns out to be a secret weapon. If it is, I may have a supply issue.
