Trouble reading Private Messages

Post by Jimbo Roberts » Mon Nov 20, 2017 6:44 pm

Hi everyone

I have been receiving private messages from members and for some reason I can not open them up and read them. I received 4 in the past 3 days I can't see them. I am not ignoring you, I am on the forum everyday trying to answer questions our members have. I called David and he is going to look into it. If you have sent me one of these messages you can call me at 210-415-6822 until we get this fixed.

Jimbo, check your settings on private messages, specifically how it responds to a full inbox.
What you want to check is letting the board delete your oldest pm's when your inbox is full.

Go to Private Messages
Rules, Folders and Settings
last block is If Folder is Full:
simply check delete oldest message.
Hit Change.
Note it says Default is this: Do not accept new messages (New messages will be held back until enough space is available)

any guess on how many php boards my inbox is full?

Good info Ron.
Silly me, it was my inbox that was full. I deleted a bunch of old PMs, closed the address, re-opened it, checked release PMs on hold, and I could read them. I have been on top of deleted PM responses, but neglected to delete inbox messages lately. I have now responded to all PMs sent.
Bingo !

I ran into it before, too, until I figured it out.

My inbox is still full on this forum, among others.
