Yeap, that second day we were there to search for Stripers, but the star had a little Cactus Flu.....
We went fishing anyway and had a terrific time !
Good Times !!!

P.S. It might actually snow in San Antonio !

It's snowing heavy here. I set up the new Trout in the Classroom aquarium at Great Hearts Northern Oaks at 4pm.
By the time I got home there was an inch of snow on the hood of my truck, and it only started snowing a few miles from home.

and this is after being parked only for 10 min - it's coming down hard

It's was 1985 when the last measurable snow fell in San Antonio......

Just maybe this is a sign that our winter won't be so dry !

Fredericksburg is getting 6 inches snow - Corpus up to 3 inches. Intellicast shows its even snowing in the Valley and northern Mexico.

This is pretty amazing for deep south Texas

So that's where our snow went! You have more than we do in northern Wisconsin. I might need to rethink this trip to the Guad in February.

Let's not underestimate the brutality of the blizzard Central and South Texas have just endured. It was so bad, public schools in Austin were closed.

Not sure if Alex is being facetious, but it truly was a blizzard, downed power lines, and not a good time to be driving because of almost zero visibility. I was out yesterday morning, there were felled trees, and many stranded cars both in my neighborhood and on the highway. The very good thing was we didn't get our normal ice storm that usually precedes snow accumulation here, so roads never really got bad. San Antonio public schools remained open yesterday. We had about 3-4 inches accumulate here, not counting what melted first, but according to this, there were pockets of heavier snowfall up to a foot nearby. Even this morning, after a day of thaw, there are snow drifts in my yard.
Not Anchorage, but how about a Gulf-effect snow.

all this melt will help with our water table and counts as a good 2-3-inch rain for all of the hill country
yesterday morning

Most unfortunate for my daughter, an important tournament in McAllen was canceled because of snow - she missed a head-to-head with a state contender, and lost a chance to improve her seed spot (and confidence).

cut that out - you wouldn't believe the rain I drove through coming back from Cedar Park last weekend.
I finally broke down and went bike riding in the rain the other day.
Hope everybody got out yesterday, it was sure pretty.
Cold but nice weekend coming, and I'm heading to the Bryan tournament.
