Jimbo - How many pounds of rainbows this year? I looked at postings from last year but couldn't find the number.

12,000lbs of Rainbows. We've been stocking 12,000lbs for as long as I can remember.
I know that we stocked much less back in the early 80's, but somewhere in the 90's we started stocking more.
I wasn't involved in stocking till around 2000, before that I have no data.

At any rate, it's good that we'll have some holdovers. And it's great that we have Jimbo working tirelessly for the organization. He's the most important holdover.
 I couldn't agree more. I can only imagine all the logistics that goes into making all this happen.

The fish I caught as late as July 1st were all very healthy. Holdovers should add some excitement to this coming season, and now more and bigger browns! I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

Looks like the upper Guad is getting some good rain. Not enough to get it out of the lower flow hole it's in, but some good rain nonetheless. :)

There was a slight bump in flows to around 65 but its back down again. At the very least its keeping temperatures cool. Hope those trout are finding themselves some deep pools.

We've had over 3" of rain in the Hunt area during the last 24 hours and more forecasted. Schumacher crossing is beginning to "foam" up a bit--always happens with an increase of flow rate.

Surely this will show up downstream.

Hi Jimbo - any rough idea on the first rainbow stocking date this year? I ask, selfishly, because I'm trying to decide if I should jump in the truck and hit the Rio Grande Gorge and the Lower Chama River during the week of Thanksgiving or stick around here and enjoy the beginning of the season on the Guad.

I can not announce the first stocking date yet.
That being said I would go fish the Chama and Rio Grande anytime one can.
Our Trout aren't going anywhere and the Guadalupe will be waiting for you when you get back.
