Camp Alexander, South Platte Progress Report

Post by jeffs » Fri Jun 15, 2007 5:14 pm

GRTU provided funding to the Cheyenne Mountain Chapter of Trout Unlimited (CMTU) to assist them with restoring a section of the South Platte River at Camp Alexander, a Boy Scout camp that is utilized by Texas Boy Scout troops.

The CMTU folks have been sending me updates on the projects progress. I have posted these progress reports under the following links:

CMTU and Camp Alexander are very grateful to GRTU for the funding and for our interest in their project.

More reports will be issued as the work progresses.

This is really cool to see the process of rehabing the river. You just have to love all those structures they are putting in the stream; wingdams and j-hooks, plus the bank stablization. Build it and they will come, very true! Thanks for putting this up for us to see.

I was looking at the graphs displayed and wondering what the LOC stands for on the graph? I first thought Low Oxygen Concentrations, but that doesn't make sense. It's got to be some other biomass in the river. Does anybody know?
