Looking for a Hill County Assortment....

Post by jchristensen77 » Mon Oct 20, 2008 9:48 pm

Sure....Big fishing business like Cabelas et al. will try to push all types of flies on you. It just so hapens, most are over 3 buck a pop....how convienient. Does anyone have a set-up for year-round? From January Rainbows, to spring white bass, summer Rios and guadalupe bass, to fall largemouths?

Thanks!

The bass get streamers (mainly #8) and the trout get much smaller buffet selections (primarily varied #14-18 soft hackles and nymphs; #18-22 midges and BWO emerger patterns)

We included a "What's in Your Flybox" column in several back issues of the GRTU newsletter for each of the major fly fishing situations found in the Hill Country and on the Coast. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll forward to you the texts from each of those articles.
