Saltwater Beadeye Question

Post by dale_connally » Sat Oct 20, 2007 8:33 pm

Earlier this year I was at South Padre and bought several flies from the fly shop in Port Isabel. When I got home I noticed that all of the bead eyes were offset. Since all of them were this way I assume it was intentional. Does this make the fly more erratic on retrieve?

Slightly offset beads will vortex-shed in current and make a fly wiggle just like the lip on a rapala.
Is it on purpose?
I don't know.

I thought that might be the case...for what I paid for them (can't get advice from a shop without buying flies) it better be on purpose!! :)
