Hard Epoxy Head

I am looking for some advice on a good epoxy/head cement for a hard and clear head finish. I mainly need to use this to coat small thread midge bodies, to give that glossy/wet appearance, as well as protect the body for better durability. What I am looking for is the stuff that professional tiers use to coat copper john wing cases, or deceiver heads to get that clear, hard finish.

I have tried loon hard head, and Zap-a-Gap's 5 min, epoxy, both with dissapointing results.

I have heard that a rod wrap epoxy is the way to go.

Any suggestions on a good solution?

Most tyiers suggest using Z-poxy, I use Devcon epoxy that you can get at Lowes. Its about half the price of zpoxy and you get twice as much. Buy it by the bottle, the syringe styles get to messy and they dont tend to dry clear.

If you are going to be using it on threaded midges, I would suggest using several coats of clear coat rather than epoxy. Epoxy might leave it looking to bulky, but if you put it on with a neadle and very thin it will will work.
