I visited the Guadalupe last winter and caught only trout in the main flows but the odd small sunfish or bass in some of the quiet eddies. I'll be arriving back at the river on Nov. 16th and wonder whether the bass/sunfish fishery will now be the main attraction until river temperatures drop and trout are stocked again.

Thanks Russell, nice fish! I've been a white-water canoe and kayak addict most of my life so I have a healthy respect for moving water. Hopefully I'll find a few places I can wade or launch my yak.

At current flows I would say there are vey few places where you can actually wade fish safely. You won't be able to wade across the river almost anywhere. You could float or fish from the bank, but when flows are near 1000cfs, the river is a hazardous place to wade fish.
Use extreme caution.

Thanks for the warning, guys. I'll explore some of the other rivers till the Quadalupe settles down.
