Seems to closely resemble like the area downstream from Action Angler; looking upstream. But the apparent bend in the river (in the painting) is throwing me off. Very nicely done painting!

That's a good guess and most likely area. About the only other place could be looking upstream at the Duck Pond in the Tubers Loop.
Then again it really could be almost anywhere with a little artistic license modifying what he/she saw.

Dan is right.

Devils playground before the flash flood that pushed up the gravel bar/ wall that is there now.
