Don't pet the skunks!

Post by BigCliff » Mon Mar 08, 2010 3:43 pm

Should go without saying, but just wanted to pass this along for anyone enjoying nature between SA and Bandera-
Authorities have confirmed a case of rabies in a Medina county horse last week. The Bandera County Rabies Control Officer determined the origin to be a skunk and is urging all residents in the area to immediately vaccinate their companion animals and livestock.
Of TX wild critters, skunks are most likely to be rabid, followed by bats. It affects others like possums, coyotes, etc, but much less often. Just wanted to let y'all know that its prime time to keep yer hands to yourself.
I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer, and I practice moderation in moderation.

Driving back from Dallas y'day, I saw/smelled more than I think I ever have. Do more sprout from the ground in wet years?
