Nueces River

Post by jeffsipes » Mon Aug 31, 2009 4:13 pm

I posted this is 'Texas Hill Country'.

I'm fishing the Nueces at a friends place this weekend, not far from Chalk Bluff. Anybody been out that way? Looking at the river flows, they are low but look workable. I've got some buggers and a variety of poppers that should work but any advice from the board is very welcome.

I'm fishing with my boys (8 and 6). Well, they are fishing - I'm dodging fly lines, hooks and flying bream picked up on the backcast. I'll post a report next week.

there is much impounded water there and oxbows in the gravel fingers - you should have no problem finding persistent pools with good bass.
Fished the Frio sendero last April - southeast of where you're going - of course without public access, and 3 of us caught 400 bass in one day.
