New Book: "Paddling the Guadalupe"

Post by mickmcco » Sun Jun 22, 2008 10:16 am

Just picked up a new book, hot off the Texas A&M Press. It is Paddling the Guadalupe by Wayne McAlister. McAlister is a former biology professor at Victoria College in Victoria and environmental education specialist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, now retired on the Guadalupe.

The book, part nature guide and kin to Fly Fishing the Texas Hill Country, traces the Guadalupe along its entire route, from the Hill Country to the Gulf. It's part of the Texas A&M Nature Guide series and sponsored by the River Systems Institute of Texas State, San Marcos (our partners for the Guadalupe bug study).

I've just started reading it, but I can tell it should be in many of your personal libraries.

That sounds like a good book... but he apparently didn't consult Jimbo so I'm having second thoughts about buying it.
Actually, I've been waiting for Jimbo and Ron to write their own book. :)

I don't know if all those people would buy it after the news got out that all the locations named would look like "******* ********". But Ron knows this one for sure! Jimbo
