Those are cool little rods. Next time I sell a house I think I'm going to have to pick one up, even though I have already bought this year's rod! I always wished that I could have saved an old Fenwick fiberglass flyrod to use now when fishing these tight little rivers and streams that are all over t...

I went fishing again on the Guadalupe on Friday and the fish were really turned on. I slept in, no big surprise for those that know me, and didn't get in the water till 1 pm. It was a sunny day, so fishing the shadows was the best strategy. The wind was up and I was using a 9' 5wt to nymph fish. Any...

OK, now your just showing off !!! That Bass has to be at least 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. Do my eyes deceive me? Is that fly stuck in it's jaw something other than a Cat's Whisker? What are all the "Grass" fisherman going to say about you fishing with Graphite ??? It's funny that your using a 8' 5wt. as I just...

Looks like you had some good fishing. I've never fished around there but I have looked at the river as I crossed it many times on the way to the rockies and thought to myself that I should fish it sometime. Where on the San Saba were you fishing?

Since I haven't fished the Rio in awhile, the last post got me thinking I should go give it a shot. Flows were 55-59cfs, water 87 at Rainbow@noon , 78 at Rio@5pm, water was a bit murky, and wading in the river really stired up the bottom producing clouds of mud in my downstream wake. I started out a...

And it's mighty inconvenient having to take boots all the time just so I can keep track of the numbers. Every time I get to twenty. I get to eat a Jolly Rancher. I go through bags of these all the time! Actually I haven't fished up at Rio all summer. I've only fished the Guadalupe maybe a half dozen...

I've been warned before, but I just can't seem to stop myself from collecting fishing gear. I've also been told that if I keep adding to the collection that I should sell some of the pieces that I don't use anymore and I can't seem to bring myself to that point either. The only pieces that actually ...

That's one pretty reel and the name sounds familiar, but I don't remember seeing one before. Speaking of fiberglass rods, a friend of mine has a sweet little 7 1/2' 4 wt. Shakespear white wonder rod. It's one cool little rod. He doesn't fish with it much but he won't sell it to me because it was his...

Looks like you have a new reel. What is this one called? By the way I finally found a San Miguel 2 and it's a "Cast for the Cure" 12/100 with an extra spool. I am very lucky! Jimbo
