was fishing down from a bridge access yesterday - then up to an impoundment that had always been the end of this wade. A landowner came out to chat - chatted with him before, and he gave us permission to hike the bank - this opened up the top end of the impoundment, three plunge pools, and a large n...

hey Charlie, I think it's in Kendall Co., anyway, but talking about Zoeller Lane, Waring-Welfare, and both River Bends - these are all between Comfort and Waring. Unfortunately, that's 7 crossings total. There are fences blocking what used to be public right-of-way at the bridges, and the constables...

I was wrong about this - at least downriver. Fished above Canyon yesterday and there was so much ammonia coming off the water I could smell it.

pretty much the same story on the Pedernales (except there are no trees) follow the ruts in the granite and look for plunges that are knee-deep to waist deep with the water making a bit of noise at the head http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/bulldog1935/pedernales2c.jpg (photo credit to EC) http...

stand in the chute and troll a sinking line won't hurt a bit.... the water is inviting. The eutrophic conditions that were making all the green algae seem to be settling down and the water is clearing up... look at this shellcracker that Ewell caught in the still water http://img.photobucket.com/alb...

upper Guadalupe has been fishing fine. little spotted bass are piled up in the bottoms of pools and anywhere the water is making noise. The narrow quick water is definately fishing the best. (Mike actually has a little largemouth there) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/bulldog1935/decoy/fish/m...

so many bridges, so little time... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/bulldog1935/decoy/fish/rb002c2.jpg (this fish really is blue - it's a hybrid between a largemouth and endemic Guadalupe spotted bass) I never met a spotted bass I didn't like http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/bulldog1935/...

I caught another this weekend and heard of two more caught, including a small striper. I'm thinking the rains are triggering false runs - it didn't rain at all in the spring.

for me it was Lake LBJ in the the aluminum semi-vee with Evinrude 9-1/2. Need to show you my 1951 Wards Hunting and Fishing catalog - you'd flip over the old boats, not to mention the rods and reels. On that rod, the first guide, BTW, is a big red agate in a nickel-silver ring. yes, the Meek reel is...

Just had the rod rebuilt. Absolute hoot to lob 3/8 oz. Need to go bass fishing with my dad. check out the do...

I was out Sunday, trout fished a bit, then took a 6" castaic rainbow lure to a known striper hole and cast it for about an hour - no takes.
I plan to keep hauling that rig around and using it on and off.
