Kayak Roof-Top Transport - Without factory installed Rails?

Hi Folks, I have a bit of a dilemma. I have received two kayaks as a gift; however I have absolutely no way of getting them to the water! I will tell you that I drive a Toyota Corolla, and I don’t have any factory bars installed. Can anyone point me the right direction (besides buying a truck) of ho...

Re: Catching Carp

That raised some concert to me since the females aren't even there yet and the spawning ground is getting hammered. I know people say "there are tons there, its ok" but the males are getting weeded out before the females even get there. One practice is to protect spawning grounds. Interesting point...

Re: Reimer's Ranch

You can hike / wade up to Hamilton Pool Road from Riemer's although its a bit of a hike. I try to stay in the water as much as possible, as some of the land is private property, and I think the rangers at the preserve will hastle you if they see you fishing from the preserve's shore. There are many ...

Re: Reimer's Ranch

Hey bassackwards, I was there this past Saturday. The fishing was excellent, but the etiquette was much to be desired. I'm sure most of the folks who go there regularly know this, but I personally had guys with electronics buzz right into sections where I was catching fish. This has happened many ti...

Re: Upper Guad

I have doing a bunch of reading about Rebecca Creek, and the Guadalupe River right before it spills into Canyon Lake. After much driving around a couple of weeks ago (and getting a bit lost) I found a boat ramp that was off FM-306 and down Tanglewood Drive in the town of Canyon. I believe the name o...

Lower Blanco River....(around HWY 80)

Has anyone had any luck on this section of the Blanco? We recently moved to San Marcos, where the Blanco is litterally walking distance through the end ouf our neighborhood. When we first moved in the graffiti on the railroad trestle and the low stangnant water kind of turned me off. But now the wat...

Those are some nice fish. The fight that those Gaudalupe bass put up is very respectable, in addition to the quick water that they are caught in. Those things are a blast on a four weight!

New to Austin? Cant find any spots to flyfish?

Hey folks, I came across this great tool which will allow you to zoom into marked fishing locations in the Austin area. As there are so many great spots, one of the hardest ways to explore for a new person to the area (as I was just one year ago!) is just finding waters with public access. All of th...
