Fishing the Nueces River

I been jonesing to fish the Nueces River again for a few years now. The Nueces River is a good 3 hour drive south and west of Austin. The drive took us thru the Texas hill country and we crossed many creeks and rivers. The hill country creeks and rivers are flowing cool and clear - due to the rains ...

Re: They wore me out !

Jimbo,

It's been a long, long time time since the last time I fished that stretch of the river.

I'm happy to see that the river is in decent fishing condition.

Re: It's all about getting wet Again

Nice fish.

I fished there about a month ago.
The water doesn't look like it's changed alot since then.

Re: Spring has sprung

It's my trusty RPL+, 10', 4wt. It'll cast a floating line, sinking line, big poppers, streamers, indicators ...

It's a versatile fly rod.

Spring has sprung

I haven't posted in a while and I thought that I would post these pics from fishing the last few weeks. I hope that you enjoy the pics. It seems that spring has sprung. Jzap,

Check out:

The forum is a good information source for fiberglass fly rods. There are several GRTU members that post on this forum.

November Wet Wading

With temps in the mid 80s, what a better way to spend a day than wet wading a Texas hill country river. My wife and I packed a lunch and loaded up the Escape and made it to the river around 11:00 AM. Here's view of the river from the trail. http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk212/3102yuma/WarmWater...

Fishing the San Marcos

I had the day off today and I decided to fish the San Marcos. I got on the water at about 9:30 AM and the heat drove me off the water at around 12:PM. I fished with my TFO glass rod with both a floating line and a Teeny BS-100 line. I wasn't having very much luck with the floating line and poppers, ...

Re: Fished my bamboo rod today

Curtis (bassackwards) and I fished our UL (ultralight) rods today on a local creek. Curtis fished with his 2wt Greys rod and I fished with my 0wt Sage rod. Here's a link to the UltraLight Fly Fishing forum where we posted a fishing report: http://ultralightflyfishing.yuku.com/topic/4796/master/1/?pa...

Fished my bamboo rod today

I got together this morning with a fishing buddy for some UL fishing on a local creek. I fished with my 2wt, 5'10" bamboo rod that I won at this year's Troutfest auction. Although the rod is labeled a 2wt, the rod casts better with a 3wt line. The fish were picky and the flow was low. Man, we need s...

Local Creek Fishing Pics

My buddy Curtis (bassackwards) and I got out for a day of creek fishing. I won't name the creek since the creek is starting to show signs of being pounded and overfished by those who don't practice catch and release. I hope that you like the pics. - Edward - http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk212/...

Fishing with a short glass rod

My fishing buddy (bassackwards) invited me out for some fishing on a local creek. We headed out before the day got too hot. I think the high for the day was 102 degrees. The creek flow was pretty low but we were able to find pools with fish. We saw some large bass (large for the size of the creek), ...

Creek Fishing

My fishing buddy (bassackwards) and I fished a local creek today. I fished with my 7'6" Orvis Power Flex (fiberglass rod), Martin LM-56 and Teeny T130. We had a long and hard slog to reach productive water, but it was worth it. Here's a few pics: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk212/3102yuma/Fis...

Re: Joe Robinson's Ultralight Spinning Concept

Alex,

Thanks for the review.

A few of my fishing buddies have started fishing using Joe's UL spinning system. Like you noted, it looks like Joe's system has its place especially in clear and skinny water.

I fished a local creek today

I had the opportunity to fish a local creek today with a fishing buddy. We had good day and caught plenty of sunfish and bass. Here's a few pics of today's outing: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk212/3102yuma/Fishing061710/006.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk212/3102yuma/Fishing061710/...
