Chris is a good teacher. In addition you might find some books helpful. Landon Mayer has one I like called "How To Catch the Biggest Trout of Your Life". There are others out there as well that are also good. But nothing beats time on the water with a good instructor.

This is held by guides who fish the Guad. Its more of a fun event than a competition, with donations provided to GRTU, and data on fish caught shared with TPWD. This holdover tournament has been going on for several years now.

I have seen some huge carp on the Pedernales near Johnson City...none that wanted to play, but there are some healthy fish there.
