Re: smallstreams

Thanks, Mick! Things are ok! Got one heading off to college in the fall so I'm currently in funding shock. :) Looking forward to warmer weather and trying some Tenkara on my local rivulets...

smallstreams

Some of you may remember smallstreams.com It's arguably one of the oldest fly fishing boards on the net and has undergone lots of iterations. About a year ago it died. I've known all of the owners and decided to acquire the site and revive it, which I did a few months ago. I put stream-fisher on ind...

Midges

I'm participating in a midge swap we have going at FAOL and stream-fisher... Thought I'd share with you guys, too, mainly 'cause I like the picture! Started on the flies last night. Gave up on my CDC gills, (see bottom fly) and just went to a biot/herl midge in #24. http://img.photobucket.com/albums...

I promised not to post those pictures. Being new here, I don't want the fearless leader PO'd at me, so I'll honor that, but HOLY MACKEREL!

Your favorite tying books...

Tying and books go hand in hand. My favorite pattern books are the Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen "Flies for ..." series. I have all of the books in that series, and wouldn't trade them. A nice add to those is the "Flies of North America" CD rom, which incorporates all of those books in to a database...

I do have a pedestal for that vise. Love HMH's. I also have a pedestal Spartan that my 14 year old uses. I've been through a truckload of vises, and landed on the HMH. Never looked back.

Your tying area...

Mick sent some pics of what I am officially dubbing the "Presidential Suite" and it got me thinking. My tying area has to be um, "contained and closeable" to preserve domestic harmony. Mick has dedicated real-estate. Where do you tie? Here is my measely little desk... http://img.photobucket.com/albu...
