Cabelas CGR 6 1/2' 4 wt-SOLD

Cabelas CGR 6 1/2' 4 wt with spigot ferrules, very good condition. A dandy little instrument that would make a good back up rod. Cork reel seat with dual rings. No bag or tube. Free shipping. $60 shipped. It was a gift from a friend who did not use it. It has a rather full flex but should be unbreak...

Llano River outing

This was my first outing with the rod that Tim Zietak recently rebuilt for me, a reproduction Leonard 48DF 3/2 4 wt. I was on the North Fork of the Llano River. I thought I had fished out this hole. I wanted to make that “one more cast” before heading home. Here is the video: https://youtu.be/2b2-1e...

Re: The Slab

I crossed this last week visiting relatives.

What is it like downstream?

Which is preferable?

Nothing under 20 inches along this stretch

I just happened to have my ruler. Figures don't lie.

The cat in the last clip shows how nice it is to be out on the water at this time of the year.

Fishing bonus

We scared each other - my looks and his snort.

It is not easy to get this close to an Axis buck, especially this nice.

Re: Bass and cats on the Llano

I think I got the idea about the gloves in a post here last year. Maybe it was yours. It has been working great for me.

Re: Sightfishing for bass in the Hill Country

Funny you should ask. Not Ha Ha funny.

I broke the rod on the next cast.

It is a Tim Zietak Leonard 48.

The rod is currently in Pittsburg for repair and will be as good as new.

We cannot buy rain in Kerrville.

Sightfishing for bass in the Hill Country

The green water is the North Fork of the Guadalupe. The clear water is the North Fork of the Llano.
